In this course students are taught basic metal techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering, forming, riveting and surface treatments. They are also introduced to contemporary jewellery field by visual presentations during classes. The course is designed as 16 weeks periods. However, students can continue another term to learn more techniques such as green and red wax modeling, advanced soldering and resin applications.
Tour to Grand Bazaar studios such as, furnace, casting place, stone-setting studio and material places is also part of the class schedule. This experience gives students a better understanding of the profession and how it is applied in Turkey. It also helps them to establish their own studio and be able to work in local system.
Option 1: 3 hours / week, 16 weeks duration, 48 hours
